Eva Oosterlaken (she/her) is a Dutch-American designer and researcher.
She is creative lead at Studio Futurall, which she founded together with UK-based designer and foresight practitioner Finn Strivens in 2020. Futurall uses the power of design to bring diverse voices into decision-making; to create space to imagine radically different futures; and, in doing so, to build the capacity of communities and organizations to face the challenges of our times.
Both active in the Netherlands and the United Kingdom, Futurall has previously worked with Nesta, the Scottish government, the Fitzwilliam Museum, Scottish & Southern Electricity Networks and the Dutch Design Foundation, namely on topics such as place-based democracy, sustainable transitions (energy, food and land use), and equitable digital futures.
From 2024, Eva is active in the Civic Interaction Design department at the Amsterdam University of Applied Sciences as a design researcher on the research project Pubhubs.
From 2021 to 2023 Eva worked as a UX specialist at Picnic Technologies. She holds a double master’s degree in Global Innovation Design from the Royal College of Art and Imperial College London (2020), and a bachelor’s degree in Industrial Design Engineering from the Delft University of Technology (2017).
