Martijn Arets is an international independent platform expert and has been researching the rise of the platform economy and its impact on people and society since 2012.
As a bridge builder, he brings stakeholders together, conducts research, writes for both a general and academic audience and actively engages in the (public) debate. He does this independently and in his personal title, as lead of the ‘gig team’ of the WageIndicator Foundation and as a researcher at the Civic Interaction Design Research Group. Among other things, he wrote the (Dutch-authored) ‘Platform Revolution – From Amazon to Zalando, the impact of platforms on how we work and live’. He is also the creator and founder of GigCV: a data-sharing standard that allows 100,000 platform workers to access their data in the form of a digital CV.
