Open Call for a design charette: a one-week urban design sprint in Hart van Holendrecht, Amsterdam

In the context of our ‘From Prevention to Resilience‘ project and in collaboration with AUAS’ Urban Spatial Transformation research group, Eigen Haard and Arcam Architectuurcentrum Amsterdam we have organized a design charette (design studio) in which the Amsterdam district Hart van Holendrecht is central. In the design charette, three design teams will work intensively for one week (from 9 to 15 December 2021) on three questions.

– How can social and ecological resilience be improved in the ‘Hart van Holendrecht’ district through spatial interventions?
– What role can a reinterpretation of the zone between private and public space (from plinth to square) play in this?
– How can the existing buildings benefit optimally from the new construction assignment on the square?

Each team should consist of at least 3 participants, where multidisciplinarity is encouraged. Each team is required to have at least one architect, landscape architect or urban planner.
