Paper on designing for self-awareness, by Marije ten Brink et al., accepted to ACM Conference

Paper co-written by CivicIxD researcher, Marije ten Brink, titled Designing for self-awareness: supporting students’ reflexive interactions based on photos, was accepted to the ACM Creativity & Cognition Conference. The paper presents guidelines for interactive triggers supporting students in developing self-awareness. Students were asked to discuss self-made photos while working with three paper prototypes: Photo profile, Photo story and Photo position. It was found that each trigger provokes distinct interaction and support for self-awareness, insights which may be helpful for researchers as well as for educators. The conference is taking place next June in Venice, where Marije will present the paper.
