We are thrilled to welcome Yulia S. Tikhomirova as a visiting researcher at the AUAS – Civic Interaction Design Research Group from February to September 2025. During her time with us, Yulia will collaborate with Mirjam Vosmeer exploring digital tools and frameworks for communities in public space and museality.
Yulia brings a rich interdisciplinary background as an artist, curator, and PhD candidate in the National Doctorate Program in Heritage Science at Sapienza Università di Roma. Her academic journey spans journalism (St. Petersburg State University), digital media (Academy of Fine Arts of Bologna), and arts, museology, and curatorship (University of Bologna).
Her research delves into collective art practices, participatory culture, and hybrid realities, examining the intersection of art, technology, and activism. As a co-founder of TIST – This Is So Temporary, she critically engages with digital technologies in public spaces, leveraging XR as a tool for community engagement.
We look forward to the collaborations and insights Yulia will bring to our research group.
