Book presentation: Citizen Empowerment Toolbox, Action Design for Urban Futures
Wednesday, 18 JAN 20.00 | Pakhuis de Zwijger Grote Zaal | Gratis

Prof. Ben Schouten’s new book, The Civic Empowerment Toolbox, Action Design for Urban Futures, will be presented at Pakhuis de Zwijger on January 18th. The book focuses on the design of active citizenship and citizen participation, offering many examples as well as opportunities to kickstart your own initiative. Together, the six cahiers, including the introduction, provide a complete overview of design for civic empowerment where practice and theory come together, resulting in design recommendations, examples and future opportunities for research and education.

During this event, these strategies and citizens’ initiatives will be discussed from 4 different angles: Practice, Theory, Education and Media. Scientists, designers and colleagues from the field shed light on engaged citizenship from their contribution to the book.
