We are thrilled to share a new paper co-authored by CivicIxD Associate Lector, Jaz Choi and esteemed colleagues Andrea Botero Cabrera, Markรฉta Dolejลกovรก, and Lachlan Sleight. The article, titled “๐ ๐ฒ๐๐๐, ๐ฒ๐ป๐๐ฎ๐ป๐ด๐น๐ฒ๐ฑ, ๐ฎ๐ป๐ฑ ๐๐ต๐ฎ๐ฝ๐ฒ๐๐ต๐ถ๐ณ๐๐ถ๐ป๐ด: ๐๐ฒ๐ฟ๐ฎ๐น ๐ ๐ฎ๐ฝ๐ฝ๐ถ๐ป๐ด,” has been published in the International Journal of Cartography.
In this innovative study, the researchers introduce the โFeral Mapโ, an open online map that brings together different creative practices questioning the dominant extractive, technocentric rendering and legitimizing of particular algorithmic futures. This work pushes the boundaries of traditional mapping and offers fresh perspectives on how we understand and represent the world around us.
