Join us on July 3rd for a special event hosted by the AUAS on Megagames in Education, featuring the En-ROADS Climate Solutions Simulator. CivicIxD game designer & researcher, Karel Millenaar is involved in the Megagames as a Methodology to Enhance Global Awareness (MEGA) project, which explores how live, large-scale interactive games can enrich higher education. 

Event Description: 

Are you passionate about climate change and interested in innovative educational methods? This session is designed to immerse up to 40 participants in a dynamic, interactive experience that combines climate science with large-scale gaming. Facilitated by Andrey Dyachenko from LEAF, you will engage in the En-ROADS Climate Action Simulation game, working collaboratively to explore and develop actionable insights into climate solutions. This hands-on experience will provide valuable perspectives on the impacts of various climate policies and actions.

What is En-ROADS? 

En-ROADS is a powerful, user-friendly global climate simulator developed by Climate Interactive, the MIT Sloan Sustainability Initiative, and Ventana Systems. It enables users to explore the impacts of various climate policies and actions on factors such as energy prices, temperature, and air quality. The simulator is used worldwide to inspire actionable insights and foster a deeper understanding of climate change. Click here to learn more

About the Megagames Project: 

The Megagames as a Methodology to Enhance Global Awareness (MEGA) project explores how live, large-scale interactive games can enrich higher education. By immersing students in complex problem-solving scenarios, simulations and megagames like the En-ROADS Climate Action Simulation game help participants develop critical and creative thinking skills essential for tackling global issues.
