Associated Lector Jaz Choi presented a talk titled “More-than-Human Data, Feral Data” and chaired a panel at Machine Teaching Commons / Teaching Machine Commons, a one-day symposium, and co-curated the accompanying exhibition (June 19 – July 5) hosted by the smuc.kitchen project led by Dr. Viktor Bedö at the Basel Academy of Art and Design FHNW, Switzerland. The event brought together researchers and creative practitioners exploring the promise and perils of site- and community-specific algorithms for governing urban resources and practices of safeguarding autonomy in working with algorithms from different disciplines and perspectives, including Dark Matter Labs, Superflux, 2050+ Architects, Xiaowei Wang, Rebecca Fiebrink, and Oona Morrows.
